      Message from the Head

      Dear Parents,

I look forward to welcoming you and your son or daughter to Harlington Upper School.

This is a popular and highly successful school built on the partnership between individual students, parents, staff and the local community.  The special nature of this school is based on our emphasis on quality in all that we do, the rich extra-curricular life and positive relationships founded on mutual respect. Our purpose is to work together to create a positive learning environment in which all students can realise their full potential.  We are encouraging and supportive towards all of our students and in return we require high standards of work, conduct and appearance.

We recognise that moving to upper school is a big step in a child’s life.  We help all our new students to settle into Harlington quickly and happily and aim to develop a productive balance between work and extra-curricular activities.

We are proud of our students’ achievements.  Expectations are high and examination results are consistently outstanding.  Most students progress into our sixth-form and, each year, our sixth-form students leave Harlington well equipped to make a success of degree courses at university or employment.

The school received an Ofsted inspection in March 2018 and we were delighted to receive a very positive report which confirmed Harlington continues to be a “good” school and that students make strong progress in all areas.

I believe that parents are able to send their children to Harlington Upper School confident that they will be well cared for and receive a broad education that meets the demands of today’s world and the challenges that lie ahead.  Some of the recent successes that make our school more than just a place to take examinations are listed below.

Please contact me if you would like to visit during the school day and talk with students and staff.  You will be made very welcome.

      Yours sincerely,

      Shawn Fell
